By choosing to use Teak, you acknowledge and agree to the information handling practices described in this Privacy Policy. Unless otherwise defined here, terms used in this policy have the same meanings as in the terms and conditions accessible within Teak.
Teak processes information only as needed to provide, maintain, and improve the service. Except as described in this Privacy Policy, Teak does not sell, rent, share, or disclose your personal information to third parties.
2. User data collected by Teak
Teak does not collect user data and does not integrate any third-party SDK that submits, collects, or tracks user information.
Teak does not build user profiles, sell user data, or upload your browsing data to Teak-owned servers.
3. Sensitive device permissions
Photo library permission: Teak may request access to your photo library to save images, upload images on websites, or recognize QR codes.
Camera permission: Teak may request camera access to scan QR codes or take photos when a website asks you to upload an image.
Location permission: Some websites may request your geographic location. Teak itself does not actively obtain, collect, or store your location information.
All of the permissions above are optional. You may grant or deny them based on your actual needs.
4. iCloud sync
If you use iCloud sync, Teak stores your bookmarks in Apple’s CloudKit service.
Teak does not store your bookmarks on Teak-owned servers. The data is kept in your private CloudKit database, and the developer has no access to it.
5. Translation
In mainland China, Teak uses Bing as the translation engine. Outside mainland China, Teak uses Google as the translation engine.
When you use page translation, Teak sends the web page content that needs translation to the applicable translation provider. For users in mainland China, the content is sent to Bing. For users in other regions, the content is sent to Google.
Please review Google’s or Bing’s privacy policy before using the translation feature.
6. Passwords and autofill
Passwords and autofill data are stored in local encrypted storage and may be synced across your devices through Apple’s CloudKit service.
Neither the developer nor Apple can view your sensitive password and autofill information.
7. Subscriptions and payments
Teak offers monthly, yearly, and lifetime subscription options. Purchases are processed by the App Store, and Teak does not collect or store your payment information.
Payment, refund, invoice, and subscription management matters are governed by the rules and records in the App Store and your Apple account.
8. Security
Teak values your trust and works to protect service-related information using commercially reasonable measures.
However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure or reliable, and Teak cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Links to third-party websites
Teak may access or display links to third-party websites. If you click a third-party link, you will leave Teak and be directed to that third-party website.
These third-party websites are not operated by Teak. We recommend that you review their privacy policies. Teak has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party websites or services.
10. Children’s privacy
Teak’s services are not directed to anyone under the age of 13. Teak does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
If we discover that such information has been collected unintentionally, we will make reasonable efforts to delete it promptly.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
Teak may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We recommend that you review this page periodically for any changes.
Updated versions will be posted on this page and will take effect when posted.
